Hello, I'm Allison
I am Allison Torrance, a Registered Social Worker (RSW, MSW, BSW, Psychotherapist). I am a co-parent, a partner, a rescue dog mum, a nature enthusiast, a social justice advocate, a collector of books, a lover of all things cozy, lamp lighting, wood burning stoves, a comfy bed, freshly washed linen, and strong coffee.

In my own intense mindedness as a “super-feeler”, I value a relational, person-centred approach to working with all people. My focus is strongly rooted in connection, safety, and flexibility to hold space for all of our most complex and challenging parts with softness, compassion, and dignity. I work with folks of all ages to embrace kindness and curiosity, while moving away from the harsh judgements that often cloud our sense of belonging in the world.
I am a certified clinical trauma practitioner (CCTP), a certified child and adolescent trauma professional (CATP), certified in narcissistic abuse treatment (NATP), certified in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and trained in various modalities including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), internal family systems therapy (IFS), and emotionally focused family therapy (EFFT). I have a deep passion for parts work, somatics, polyvagal theory, and cultivating mindfulness across all of these areas of practice.

I often use breath, movement, art, play, and meditational practice to build strategies for grounding and nervous system regulation. I have significant experience working with survivors of gender-based violence, those impacted by systemic violence, and supporting a wide variety of mental health challenges and diagnoses. I work with adults, young people, and children as young as 4 years old, while also providing support and psychoeducation for caregivers.
I am looking forward to meeting you!
