Hi There!

I'm Venus, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Drama Therapist. I have additional training in Play therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), and Narrative therapy. I provide sessions at Acorn & Anchor to young children (3 - 7), Adults (30+), and Seniors. I specialize in working with adults who feel anxious, depressed and overwhelmed, who are self-identified GTI-m, (neurodivergent including gifted, 2e, Autistic, ADHD, those living with invisible disabilities or complex diagnoses).

I practice at Acorn & Anchor using the Acorn & Anchor Relational and integrative approach as well as my own unique style. In my work with children 3-7 years old I integrate play therapy primarily, which allows the child to lead the session to support their self-awareness, expression, and confidence. I offer parent check-in sessions to accompany my individual work with children. In adult sessions we will explore the transformative power of drama therapy, which blends conversation with creative exercises that may include arts, metaphor, narrative, and even poetry. This approach allows for a deeper understanding of your thoughts and feelings, offering fresh perspectives on life transitions, self-esteem challenges, relationships, including validating and exploring existing coping strategies.

I use authenticity and a strengths-based approach to individualize therapy to my clients needs. I understand the challenges that stem from social systems, intergenerational, and intercultural realities. My work with clients is focused on building self-knowledge and the self-mastery of challenges. I integrate trauma-informed approaches into my work to build trust and safety as the foundation of the therapeutic relationship. I believe that creativity can be used as a tool for expression for all ages.
