Michelle has specialized in working with gifted, talented, intense-minded individuals and LGBTQ2S+ folks since 1994. She also uses her own lived experience, personally, and as a parent to meet clients with compassion and understanding.
With over 30 years of experience, working with Kids, Teens, Adults, and Families in a variety of settings, Michelle established Acorn & Anchor in 2019 with a relational-focused, neuro-affirming, & trauma-based lens in mind.
Michelle is trained in a variety of modalities, including Infant and Early Years Mental Health (and development), Trauma-based CBT, DBT, Interpersonal Neuroscience, Self-Regulation, Polyvagal Systems, Internal Family Systems (IFS Institute trained) and other client-focused and trauma-informed approaches.
Michelle provides training, mentoring, learning and practice groups, and clinical supervision to our Acorn & Anchor Therapist Team & to Outside Professionals.

Allison Torrance, MSW, RSW, Psychotherapist

Allison has over 10 years of experience supporting folks who are facing challenges such as existentialism, overwhelming thoughts and expressing big emotions.
Allison uses Acorn & Anchor's relational, integrative approach and focuses on each individual's unique needs. She is a certified trauma professional (CATP & CCPT) and integrates elements of IFS, CBT, EFFT Art, Play, and other approaches in her work with her clients. She supports those with complex minds, self-esteem issues, and those who have experienced trauma.
She is committed to providing individualized care to meet her clients respectfully and with understanding, connection, and compassion.

Trishna Panchal, MSW, RSW, Psychotherapist

Trishna has 10 years of experience, specializing in work with children, teens, adults, and families.
Trishna practices using Acorn & Anchor's relational, integrative approach, providing our complex clients with individualized care to meet their unique needs.
Trishna supports a relational, connected approach using methods of brain-body integration, mindfulness, skill building (CBT, DBT), and internal thought exploration. She creates a welcome, accepting space for people to be who they truly are, inside and out.
Trishna supports those experiencing heightened sensitivity, anxiety, and depression, grief and loss, sexuality and gender spectrum, and those with complex trauma.
Trishna speaks English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi.
Trishna co-supervises new therapists and interns at the Centre alongside Michelle Guy.

Amina Mohamed, RSW, MSW Intern, BSW

Amina is a Master of Social Work student who is passionate about supporting children and their families as they navigate life challenges. She is committed to providing strength-based, client-centred care, fostering a safe and non-judgmental environment. Amina is dedicated to continuous growth and learning, staying informed about the perspectives and experiences of the community served at Acorn and Anchor. She focuses on building cooperative and supportive therapeutic alliances to promote the development of children and support parents to meet their needs.
Amina is mentored by AATC Founder, Michelle L. Guy, in the "Acorn & Anchor Approach" and is fully supervised in her practice with clients.
Amina can offer 1:1 Therapy, including reduced-fee and low-cost therapy sessions.

Violeta Dubov, MSW, RSW, Psychotherapist,

Violeta has over 10 years of experience working with children, youth, adults and families. At Acorn & Anchor, she uses our relational & integrative approach and incorporates elements of CBT, Narrative Therapy, attachment-based, mindfulness, and more. She is an IFS-informed Therapist.
She helps clients who experience anxiety, depression, phobias, suicidal ideation, parenting challenges, and other life challenges.
Violeta speaks English, Hebrew, and Russian.

Rachel practices using Acorn & Anchor's relational, integrative approach and blends professional and personal experience to prioritize the unique needs of each person. She is IFS-Informed and integrates elements from emotion-focused therapy, CBT, DBT, and somatic processing modalities to support her clients.
She creates a non-judgmental space for life stressors, big emotions, relationship difficulties, and mental health to be explored.

Pam has 20+ years of experience working with children (8+), youth, adults, couples, and families.
At Acorn & Anchor, she practices using our relational approach and integrates elements of CBT, IFS, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, art & play-based techniques, and attachment-based theories. Pam is an IFS-informed Therapist.
Pam supports her individual clients in a safe and connected manner, meeting them where they are comfortable and guiding them to identify, understand and meet their self-identified goals.

Kanwar has 5+ years of experience working with kids (10+with some flexibility), teens, and Adults.
At Acorn & Anchor, he uses our relational & integrative approach and incorporates elements of CBT, regulation skills, and self-awareness with clients. He supports the exploration of self and the complexities of the mind using compassion and care. He specializes in work with male-identifying clients at the Centre.
As a former intern at AATC, he has extensive research knowledge and client experience working with GTIm, ADHD, and other complex issues.

Hannah has over 10 years supporting kids, (8+), teens, parents, and individual adults.
Hannah practices using Acorn & Anchor's relational, integrative approach focuses on each individual's unique needs. She integrates elements of IFS, CBT, DBT, and self-regulation tools to support her clients. She supports those who are experiencing challenges with daily life, burnout and issues with self-esteem.
She is committed to building a collaborative, trusting therapeutic relationship to support children, youth and adults attain their goals.

Our current Interns can provide support services in addition to our current clients' therapy sessions, as well as supporting program development at the Centre. All of our Interns are mentored by Founder, Michelle L. Guy, in the "Acorn & Anchor Approach" and are fully supervised in their practice with clients.
Interns can enhance support with clients and groups and offer resources to clients at the Centre
More Experienced Interns can offer 1:1 Therapy, including reduced-fee and low-cost therapy sessions, once they are approved and vetted by our Founder. Ask about this option!

Ashley Nutter
Client Care & Intake Coordinator, SSW

Client Care & Intake Coordinator and Mentee at Acorn & Anchor.
Ashley is our friendly Client Care Coordinator and the first contact at Acorn & Anchor. As an aspiring MSW & Therapist, Ashley places high value on clients finding the right fit in a therapist. Ashley has a keen eye for detail and an inherent understanding of our GTI-m, neurodivergent, Gifted, Twice-Exceptional, 2e population. Ashley understands that the right fit for a therapist is so important and works with you to ensure you find the perfect match. Ashley demonstrates an authentic desire to make each person’s first step toward healing welcoming and supportive.
Ashley is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality in line Ontario Privacy Law (PHIPA) and regulations set forth by the OCSWSSW.

Psychological Services
Provided to current clients of Acorn & Anchor
Please note that at this time, only those that are seeing a therapist at the Centre* are eligible to be referred for Psychological testing.
Psychological assessments, include Educational Assessments, I.Q, Social-Emotional I.Q., ADHD, ASD, and Mental Health.
*Therapists provide weekly therapy, in person and virtual sessions, to help clients to manage their identified symptoms. Therapists also help clients to determine whether they would benefit from an assessment. Sessions include therapy for individuals, couples, families, child/teen, dyad sessions, and parent support.
Assessments are only available in person.
