Use of relational approach with integration of IFS, interpersonal neurobiology, CBT, DBT, and other integrative evidence-informed, client-focused approaches.

Karen Newstead

Karen has more than 15 years of experience as an office manager and health administrator. Karen is an integral part of the team and practices with the same standards of confidentiality required by PHIPA and HIPPA (Ontario regulated). Karen is the owner of Stamen & Pistil Botanicals, the "nature therapy" component of the beautiful shared space. Karen is excited to use her skills as a workshop developer and creator, and to co-facilitate workshops at the Centre to incorporate nature and mental wellness.

Children, youth, and adult therapist. Over 28 years experience working with individuals and families dealing with relationship issues, family conflict and trauma. Works with clients who identify as GTIm (neurodiverse), and symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and LD. Use of relational, integrative therapy approach that best supports people to reach their goals, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness, and others.

Kanwar uses a relational approach grounded in the Acorn & Anchor Model of practice. Kanwar has experience working with individual youth, young adults and adults and as a former intern at AATC he has research knowledge and client experience working with GTIm, ADHD, and other complex issues.

Psychological Services

At the centre, we are also able to provide psycho-educational assessments for children, youth and adults.
Our Psychological Services are provided by R. James Little, M.Ed, M.A., C. Psych., Psy.D.
We can also recommend services for online assessments for adults on request.
In addition, we provide educational support and guidance regarding your/your child's report to ensure clients' needs are met inside and outside of therapy.
