Regina D'cruz
R.P. (Qualifying), Child, youth, and family therapist
My Background
I’m an internationally trained RP (Qualifying) with 6+ years of counselling and therapy experience with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents. I have expertise with issues related to child and adolescent behaviour, parent-child relationship, difficulties faced by teenagers and young adults, relationships, transitions, anger, depression, anxiety, identity, self-harm, and self-improvement, including work with LGBTQ+ community. I have a trauma- informed, client-centered, integrative approach- drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, play therapy, narrative therapy, and strengths-based practices. This integrative approach is individualized to my clients to meet their unique needs. I have extensive experience working with people from a variety of cultures, religions, and socio-economic backgrounds.
I believe the relationship I share with my client is extremely important. I help them focus and build on their strengths, look for new perspectives, learn skills, and use them to work on themselves and their overall mental health. Reaching out for help and allowing ourselves to be vulnerable takes a lot of courage and I look forward to working together if you are ready to take this step.
